Elia

Franz Holtmann (Akustik Gitarre 2/2011)

Translation of quote:

“... Ostensible fulfillment of a purpose is not what a instrument like Elia is about. Something higher, almost mystical comes into play which cannot be explained easily ...”

The entry into the professional upper class

Due to its abundance of registers this instrument will even challenge the most demanding guitarist. Elia´s adequately full bodied and well carrying sound meets modern requirements and makes the instrument at home in any concert hall.

This instrument is named after my first son.

Outfitted with tuners by Rubner, a matte lacquer finish and a simple appearance, this instrument is one of my reasonably priced models and is available from EUR 3,500.

After years of being a luthier it was finally time to develop my own designs from beginning to end. Elia 01 and Elia 02 are the first two prototypes from manufactured in the Zucali workshop.

Based on these two instruments I developed todays models Elia and Aline.

Johannes Monno

On this guitar I have incorporated some additional details. A curved fretboard, a beveled Armrest, a monitor soundhole, a maintenance opening and two sound pickup systems. The maintenance opening makes it particularly easy to carry out any repairs and aid in the precise positioning of the two high-quality microphones (Miniflex7). The second pickup system is a SH 4020 by Shadow. This means you have two jack plugs, three channels (1. Both microphones, 2. Bass strings, 3. Treble strings) and endless possibilities!

Praise from a technology loving fingerstyle guitarist … I expected that! Yet, I am particularly pleased … that a full-blooded classical guitarist has fun with my crossover guitar.

Quote by Johannes Monno:

“Which guitarist does not desire an instrument offering amplification possibilities beyond all stylistic boundaries? A guitar that satisfies all acoustic and dynamic requirements and even sounds convincing unamplified! For those who also value perfect craftsmanship and enjoy a special design will inevitably come across the “Crossover” by Daniel Zucali. A guitar, comfortable in your hand and surprisingly easy to play!"
